Demand and Forecast Predictions
CuraScript SD utilizes a state-of-the-art inventory replenishment system in conjunction with our ERP software to provide accurate and complete information about current inventory levels and forecasted trends. By combining both current forecasts and market intelligence, we are better able to predict demand for your product and minimize inventory fluctuations.
Inventory is planned from an initial forecast and is regularly updated based on actual demand. Product is reordered based on its most recent actual purchase history, which is maintained in CuraScript SD’s system with on-hand and on-order quantities. This information, combined with consideration for market forecast issues such as seasonal demand, plant shutdowns, product supply shortages and new indications, allow for our inventory plan to be updated on a real-time basis.
Case Study: Superior Inventory Allocation and Management Capabilities
- Situation: An unplanned manufacturer backorder is holding multiple customer orders. These customers have various requirements for holding or cancelling orders (i.e.: 30 days, 60 days, never cancel). The manufacturer expects to release less product than the total quantity ordered and wishes to allocate some product to each customer.
- Solution: The flexibility of our proprietary inventory and order management system allows for the account master to manage date ranges for order to be held or cancelled, for backordered product to be allocated at the discretion of the client and for the open orders to be previewed or changed if needed prior to releasing for fulfillment.
- Outcome: By utilizing the order allocation features, CuraScript SD was able to work closely with the manufacturer to distribute product to customers, minimize the supply chain interruption and maximize the product available until production was able to catch up with the market’s demands.
